The 18th annual Murder Mystery Dinner Theater at Mount Hope on the grounds of Mount Hope Estate & Winery kicks off on February 6, 2026 and continues Fridays, Saturdays, select Sundays, and select Weekdays through April 26. Accept this invitation to the interactive culinary "who-done-it," enjoy a sumptuous four-course meal and the opportunity to become the detective, interrogate the suspects, put the clues together and uncover the truth!

Enter Victorian Mount Hope Mansion, a most unique setting for a theatrical interactive dining experience. Performances run Fridays, Saturdays, select Sundays and select weekdays, February 6 through April 26, 2026 and are each roughly three hours in length. Dates and times listed below subject to change.

  • Reservations are encouraged, as there are a limited amount of tickets and perfromances may sell out quickly.
  • Murder Mystery tickets will be available for purchase on the Virtual Box Office starting in early January.
  • Meal choice must be made at time of ticket purchase. Learn more about Meal Selections here.

  • The doors to the Gallery open 1 hour prior to the start time. The doors inside the Mansion open ½ hour prior. (Example: 7PM Start Time, 6PM Gallery doors open to begin check-in, 6:30PM Inside Mansion doors open and Bar Service/mingling begin)
  • Tables seat 8 guests. A seating chart is prepared before the event date. If you purchase all of your tickets in 1 transaction, you and your guests will be seated together automatically at 1 table or, if there are more than 8 in your party, at adjacent tables. If you and the rest of your party are purchasing tickets separately, select one name within your group and have each person purchasing tickets request to be seated with that name in the reservation notes section.
  • A change to the ticketing system brought about by US FTC Regulation taking place May 12, 2025 requires that both the ticket price and the service fee are combined in the overall ticket pricing. Please review your order during the purchasing process. The initial screen of the ordering process the ticket will display the sum of the ticket price + the service fee with those prices broken out and listed underneath.

Group Reservations

Discounts are available for groups of 15 or more through Mount Hope's Group Sales Department. This unique and exciting experience makes the perfect setting for our group outing! Ticket Exchange Policy

  • Tickets are non-refundable.
  • Following the World Health Organization's declaration on May 5 to the end the COVID global health emergency and the Public Health Emergency (PHE) expiring on May 11, 2023, the ticket no-refunds policy is being upheld in cases of positive Covid testing. Tickets may be exchanged per the Ticket Exchange Policy if applicable.
  • A $7.50 per ticket fee will be charged for any exchange of dinner theater tickets and must be paid at the time the ticket exchange is made.
  • Exchange requests must be made by calling the Box Office (717-665-7021), Mon-Fri, 9AM-4PM. The order number and new date must be provided at the time of request.
  • Exchanges cannot be made into a sold-out performance day.
  • Exchanges will not be made from one event to another.
  • Tickets do not transfer from one year to a future year. Unused expired tickets are null and void.
  • Exchange Requests will not be honored after the date appearing on the tickets.
  • Complimentary Tickets cannot be exchanged.
  • Theater tickets will not be exchanged without fee due to weather. Should a show be cancelled, guests will be notified in advance of the cancellation. Exchanges will only be honored after a total show cancellation by Mount Hope.

Miss Grubb is our hostess for the evening. She is a wealthy Lancaster woman who has never been married. She is the youngest daughter of Clement Brooke Grubb and Mary Ann Brooke Grubb. Daisy inherited the family's Mount Hope Estate, which is the centerpiece of the family's vast iron business.

Elisha Gray

Mr. Gray is a U.S. inventor. He is on progress to the Philadelphia Expo where he hopes to get a first-hand peek at new inventions making their way onto the scene. He is a contestant with Alexander Graham Bell in a famous legal battle over the invention of the telephone.

Anna Elizabeth Dickinson

Ms. Dickinson is a notable American lecturer on abolitionism, women’s rights, and other reform topics, remembered for the articulate but emotionally blistering rhetoric that characterized her speaking style.

Philomena Braswood

Mrs. Braswood is a recent widow and mother to 3 boys. Her husband died in the civil war leaving the child rearing square in her lap. She is a woman of wealth from her late father’s business dealings in the steel trade. She is somewhat influential in Pennsylvania but remains a step below the Grubb fortune and status, a fact that rubs her in all the wrong ways. She is quick to share her position and soured by any note that she is not at the top.

Baxter Boyd

Baxter is in his early 20s and is a chauffeur by trade. The horseless carriage is a rather new occurrence in these parts, and Baxter is very proud to be one of the few entrusted to operate such an expensive and prestigious mode of transport. He is calculating, but clumsy in his efforts, and his desires are routinely undone by his lack of social graces and refinement. Still, a river of ambition courses through his veins.
