Frequently Asked Questions about BrewFest
Where is the event located and what are the hours of operation?
The event is located on the grounds of Mount Hope Estate, home of the PA Renaissance Faire. The street address is 2775 Lebanon Road, Manheim, PA 17545. The first session is from 11AM-3PM and the second session is from 4:30-8:30PM.
Is there anything to do besides tasting beer?
Tasting beer is the focus of the festival, but there are other activities as well. Alongside the breweries there is local, live musical entertainments, a Homebrew Competition, a unique array of venders selling beer related merchandise and a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy food and brews.
Why are there only two beer styles available from each brewery?
The purpose of our festival is to promote the breweries and showcase some of their flagships or seasonal brews. We cannot possibly have each brewery bring their entire selection. Each brewery that enters the festival is made aware of this policy, and makes a decision about which beer styles they want to promote.
Will any of the beers run out?
Yes. Be prepared for beers to run out toward the end of the session. Why?
The festival requires a certain amount of beer from each of the participants to place them on a level playing field. For a variety of reasons, some beers appeal to the sampling appetites of many, and therefore run out faster - so there is a good chance that the beer "everyone is talking about" will probably run out prior to the end of the session. We recommend you get around to sample from each brewery before hanging out for “seconds” at one brewery.
Does the BrewFest accept credit cards or checks?
The festival accepts credit cards and cash for tickets sales. We do not accept personal checks for ticket sales. Some of the vendors on grounds will accept credit cards where as some only accept cash. The festival does offer three ATM machines on premise and one in the Wine Shop.
When do taps close?
Taps close promptly at the end of each session. For the first session the taps are shut off at 3PM and for the second session the taps are shut off at 8:30PM. That means no more beer is poured after those times. Security will do a sweep after the taps close asking you to leave.
