Consider yourself asked, to donate blood that is. The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire joins with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive in Mount Hope Mansion, August 15 & 16. The collection goal for the weekend is over 300 pints of blood, which can aid up to 900 individuals. You can save a life just by holding out your arm. Save a Life Just by Holding Out Your Arm Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire’s Goodly Samaritan Blood Drive August 15 & 16 |
| The American Red Cross of the Susquehanna Valley and the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire will team up Saturday and Sunday, August 15 and 16, for the sixth annual Goodly Samaritan Blood Drive on the grounds of the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire. The first floor of Mount Hope Mansion, set up in a “MASH” fashion with cots across the Ballroom, and three Red Cross Blood Donation Buses will be accepting donors from 9:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. each day. |
| The Red Cross and the Faire are striving to break the blood drive’s all-time-high collection record of 300 pints, which was set in 2008. Each pint of blood collected can save up to three lives so you can save the lives of three people in Pennsylvania just by holding out your arm. |
| Donors must be 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds and present a valid photo I.D. in order to donate. All donors will receive free admission to the Faire that day and a coupon for a free carton of ice cream redeemable at any participating Friendly’s restaurants as part of the American Red Cross and Friendly’s Ice Cream “Sweet Summer” promotion. | The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire, which unfolds from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and Labor Day Monday beginning August 8 and 9 and continuing thru October 24 and 25, is set amidst the splendor of the formal gardens of Mount Hope Estate & Winery located on Route 72, ½ mile south of PA Turnpike Exit 266, 15 miles north of Lancaster and 14 miles east of Hershey.
